How to Create Your Desires Through Affirmations
“All that we are is a result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become.”
--Buddah
Affirmations are clear-cut and very precise declarations and thoughts asserting something is so. They create all the circumstances in your life. All the magic you believed was possible when you were a child can come true with affirmations.
However, be very careful. Affirmations can create negative as well as positive changes, so consider carefully what you say and think. By following these guidelines, you can manifest your ideal life.
By repeating words, beliefs and expectations, the powers of creation cannot avoid following them. If you are used to saying and thinking things like, “I can’t do it”, “I feel awful” or “I can’t afford it”, then you will be stuck doing exactly what you are doing now with no improvement. Do you have a tendency to think the worst such as, “I might lose my job”, “Then what would I do”? If you repeat your fear of what might happen then it probably will.
Remember, your words and thoughts are extremely powerful creators. What you say, think and believe now, will create your future. What you think becomes your reality.
Now, repeat to yourself what I just said. What you think becomes your reality. When you consider this for a minute, you will realize that you actually created your life up to now also. You might say, “Oh, no I didn’t. I wouldn’t have this life if I got to choose”. As I continue, you will see exactly why, “Yes, you created it”.
There’s something very important you need to know about your mind. Your subconscious doesn't know the difference between what actually is or isn’t true. I know this is hard to believe but as you use properly-made affirmations, you will learn just how true this is. That fact is why you can change your reality to your advantage
We all have limiting and derogatory messages playing in our heads that were usually recorded during childhood, but their effects can be far reaching! Did you know that you are still being influenced by the things your parents and friends said to you decades ago?
For instance, were you ever told to clean your plate or you couldn’t get up from the table? Were you ever told you were weird or ugly? Even someone looking at you as if you were an outcast is believed by your subconscious.
Were you ever chosen last to be on a team and knew they only took you because they had to? Were you ever told that you’d never make it through college so you shouldn’t waste your time and money? Do you know someone afraid of loud noises? Hearing angry voices or deafening sounds as a child often results in being afraid of loud sounds.
Pay attention to what you say to yourself. Do you say things like, “That was stupid”, “I can’t afford that” or “I’m just no good”?
These noxious statements or counter-productive beliefs can stay in your subconscious mind and you still believe them to this day.
Usually we are not consciously aware of these underlying beliefs but even if you're not, your subconscious remembers them. Unfortunately, we play these old tapes over and over throughout our lives.
Now that you’re ready to change or eliminate those negative habits, beliefs and conditions, there are certain things you need to do…learn to make and repeat affirmations properly. So, rather than create unsuccessful, detrimental or even dangerous affirmations, follow the guidelines below.
